Wolf God is the ninth studio album by the Swedish heavy metal band Grand Magus. Recorded in a barn in Halmstad with producer Staffan Karlsson,[1] Wolf God would see release in the Spring of 2019 to positive reviews.

Background[]

Work would begin on Wolf God in the Fall of 2018, recording at The Sweetspot Studio, a barn in Halmstad surrounded by kale, described as "close to the ocean and in the middle of nowhere". JB would state the album was recorded live in the studio, which he described as a "very fun experience".[2] A lyric video for the title track and a visualizer for "A Hall Clad in Gold" would be made to promote the album.[3]

Wolf God would be released via Nuclear Blast Records on 19 April 2019 on CD and Vinyl.[4] Wolf God would attain praise from numerous publications such as Kerrang! (KKKK),[5] Ghost Cult Magazine (7/10),[6] Hard Rock Hell,[7] New Noise Magazine (Four Stars)[8] and Distorted Sound Magazine (8/10).[9] Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles honored Wolf God as #20 in the top 30 BravePicks of 2019.[10]
