Wizard Eye were a doom/sludge power trio from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Distinctive for their gruff vocal delivery and psychedelic riff tendencies, the band refers to their music as "loudly electrified psychedelic riff rock" or "drug rock, and we play it very fucking loudly" depending on whom you ask.

The band's name stems from a never-ending storm on the surface of Neptune.

Orbital Rites (2007 - 2012)Edit

Wizard Eye started out in late 2007 as a quartet with two guitarists. The band's first known shows were on 16 May 2008 (The Fire, Philadelphia, PA) and 24 July 2008 (Talking Head Club, Baltimore, MD).[1] From there the band began work on writing and recording a debut album over the next year while playing with the likes of Sourvein, Apostle of Solitude, Lord Mantis and Dirt Worshipper among other bands. The band largely played in Delaware, Maryland and New York along with their home state. Eventually the band's debut album Orbital Rites was released on 18 December 2010.

Following the release of the album the band would play a host of local gigs on their own and supporting other bands, such as Clamfight, The Gates of Slumber and Church of Misery. The band would also make an appearance at Eye of the Stoned Goat.

Riff Occult and Wizard Eye (2013 - 2017)Edit

The next couple years would see more shows in various places and the band's second album. Throughout 2013 and 2014, Wizard Eye would make two more appearances at Eye of The Stoned Goat and perform with the likes of Heavy Temple, Queen Elephantine, King Bison and Clamfight among other touring and local acts. A live performance at the Trocadero Theater on 9 August 2014 would be released as Riff Occult: Live that December. The band's second album titled Wizard Eye was released on 10 October 2015 to positive reviews among the stoner and doom circles.

2016 would see the band performing a host of special festival performances, including appearances at The Maryland Doom Fest and Shadow Woods Metal Fest. The band's last known show to date was on 24 September 2016 at Underground Arts supporting Goblin Cock.[2] This would also prove to be the band's last social media post to date as they would quietly disband the next year.
