Will To Mangle is the second studio album by the North Carolina sludge metal band Sourvein. Recorded in San Francisco in the Spring of 2002 and mastered at Sharkbite Studios, it would be released via Southern Lord Records on CD and on Clear Vinyl, the latter limited to 666 copies. A music video would be made for "Seamerchant".[1] It would be the only studio album to feature Miguel Veliz and Henry Vasquez, along with being the last Sourvein album to feature Liz Buckingham before she would relocate to England.
"D.F.F.D." stands for Doom Forever Forever Doomed and notably, a forum formerly known as the Southern Lord GoatShed would adopt the name from the song. Two songs left off the album recorded in the same sessions would later appear on a split 7" with Rabies Caste in 2005.
Will To Mangle would garner mostly positive reviews at the time of release. While some publications such as AllMusic[2] and Exclaim![3] would be less receptive, publications like Cosmic Lava,[4] Apeshit[5] and Unearthed[6] would be more positive.
