Time Travelling Blues is the second studio album by the English band Orange Goblin. Recorded in June 1998, it would be released in the Fall of 1998 via Rise Above Records with a three-track promo EP known as The Time to promote it.[1] In 1998 the album also saw release via The Music Cartel in the United States and via Music For Nations with the Trouble cover "Black Shapes of Doom" as a bonus.[2] In 2002 it would be packaged with Frequencies From Planet Ten as a two-disc set. The original album had a bonus track in "Sober Up" after silence following the closing title track.
In 2010 Time Travelling Blues would see a reissue on CD, fully remastered and with three bonus tracks (The Nuclear Guru EP and a live rendition of "Blue Snow" at BBC Studios). Time Travelling Blues would also see a vinyl edition for the first time in 2012, containing the album on LP and a 10" with four bonus tracks.
In a 2018 interview via Worship Metal, Martyn Millard would say the following about Time Travelling Blues: “I guess the next one would be Time Travelling Blues. I love that record, I really do, because it’s us, with Chris in the band now. Chris writes a lot of music for a drummer and we were kind of growing up a little bit. I mean the differences between that and the first record are quite big. There was more confidence, maturity and we were playing live more and had toured by that point. So it’s a big step up. I think that album is pretty strong, the title track is one of my favourite things we ever did and it showed a lighter side for us, especially now. We play pretty much a heavy metal set which is weird because it is us.”[3]
