This Dark Reign Recordings was an independent label based out of Long Beach, California. Founded in 2000, the label's first release would be a 3-CD archival doom compilation entitled Doomed. The label would largely focus on bands with sounds in the vein of sludge metal and southern metal, though some stoner and doom acts would be peppered into the mix. The first non-compilation release by the label would be a split between Today Is The Day and Metatron. The label would also curate a 4-CD compilation entitled From Hell, with an emphasis on black metal.
The label would ultimately dissolve in 2008. Producing entirely CD releases in their tenure and twenty-right releases in all, the label's final release would be Ghetto Angel by Sourvein.
