They Yearn For What They Fear is a sludge band from parts of Kentucky, mainly Somerset and Lexington. Their sound evokes mainly from sludge metal but incorporates elements of d-beat, crust and powerviolence. They were primarily active from 2004 - 2014 with two albums, a host of other releases and a multitude of local shows under their belt.
Their last show to date being a house show at the Pile Mansion in Lexington alongside Argentinum Astrum, Motherplant, Sonic Altar and Dirtbag.[1]
