Cover for the book.
The Making Love Demos was a demo released in conjunction with the art book Manchild 3 via Bifocal Media in 2007. It features eight songs, four of which would later be re-recorded for the band's sophomore album Ozma.
In early 2007 it would be announced via Bifocal Media that punk rock artist Brian Walsby (Also notable for his humorous parody art and his role as the Melvins' merch guy) would be releasing his third art book but with a bonus Melvins CD enclosed, containing a demo from 1987 saved from his own personal collection and a series of recordings the band themselves had forgotten about.
Along with the CD the book contains a host of humor based stories and satire along with a 16-page story on the Melvins' 2006 tour in support of (A) Senile Animal and other Melvins stories along with tales within the Chapel Hill, NC scene. A release party for the book + CD was held on 5 October with The Loners and Double Negative as performing acts.
Notably, The Making Love Demos are the last Melvins recordings to feature founding bassist Matt Lukin and before Buzz and Dale's relocation to California. A cover of "Making Love" by KISS was part of the recording session but omitted due to copyright reasons.
