The Farewell Show
(3 December 2011)

The Farewell Show was billed as the final live performance of Coventry doom metal band Cathedral, amid a host of farewell performances throughout the year of 2011.

Background[]

In February 2011 it would be announced that Cathedral planned to tour around the world one last time and formally disband afterwards, later announcing that in 2012 they would record one final album once all their dates were finished. This would lead up to the finale performance on 3 December at the HMV Forum alongside Rise Above Records labelmates and alumni such as Gentlemans Pistols and Grand Magus. Legendary UK rockers Comus were intended to perform on the bill but ultimately dropped off and replaced by longtime UK prog-rock act Cressida, recently reunited that year.
