Background[]
Sometime after the band's release of their debut album Blue Sky Mind, Sheavy would get signed to Rise Above Records for their second album. Recorded in 1997 - 1998, The Electric Sleep would be released to some critical acclaim, including an infamous review from Kerrang (With a quote used even in promotional material and flyers for the band's shows.) describing the album with the following phrase: "The Electric Sleep" is the best Black Sabbath album in,oh, at least 25 years.".
The Electric Sleep was initially released in 1998 via Rise Above Records in Europe, The Music Cartel in the United States (With a bonus track), Metal Mind Productions in Poland (On Cassette) and Music For Nations in Japan.
In 2015, Rise Above Records would reissue The Electric Sleep on vinyl, the first time the album had ever seen a release in that format. The release would feature two bonus tracks, both of which from RISE 13 - Magick Rock Vol. 1.
