The Earth Is the Insane Asylum of the Universe is the first demo by the Maryland doom metal band Asylum. It would be originally recorded and self-released by the band in 1985, with "Asylum" and "Motherless" both re-recorded by Unorthodox. It would be re-released digitally and on CD via Shadow Kingdom Records on 1 December 2008.[1]
