The Crystal Womb is the fourth studio album by the Lexington, Kentucky drone collective known as Everyone Lives Everyone Wins. Originally written and performed in 2010 (and sporadically thereafter), it would be the band's first proper recording of a live staple and the band's first studio album in seven years.
Background[]
Throughout 2019 and 2020 ELEW would begin work on a new studio album, upon performing more frequently and including live performances on WRFL. On 26 July it would be announced that The Crystal Womb would be nearly finished.[1] The band would appear on WRFL on 15 September to premiere the new album, to which it would be released on 2 October 2020.[2][3]
The Crystal Womb had originally been written and performed as far back as 2010, notably also performed on their 2011 tour (((The Temple Comes To You))) alongside Below and in 2017 as part of a collaborative performance alongside Bastard Sons of a Judas Goat. The recorded version of the song features several guests in the Kentucky scene such as Adam Nicholson (Hawkbill), Chris Smith (Eolith), Doc Feldman, Warren Byrom and Brittany Peel Harrison.[4] The Crystal Womb would be released as a CD limited to 100 copies, the first twenty contained in a special hand-crafted boxset which also contained a t-shirt, poster and a bag of crystals.
