The Absurdist
(2020)

The Absurdist was a single by the Louisville Metal band Stonecutters.

Following the departure of band founder Brian Omer in the Spring of 2020, the remaining members would choose to keep the band going and record a new single, ultimately releasing it digitally in the Summer of 2020. It would be recorded, mixed and mastered by Devin Harper at Nocturnal Media in Louisville, Kentucky in February and June 2020. The band would perform the song live in 2021 and 2022.

Notably, The Absurdist is the only Stonecutters studio recording not to feature Brian Omer and ultimately the only recording to feature the lineup of Burks, Redford, Smith and Jordan. This lineup would remain active until the Spring of 2022, when Brian Omer would form a new Stonecutters lineup and legally secure the band's name and trademark. While the song was deleted off Bandcamp, it is still available on some streaming services.
