The '67 Demos is a live demo recording of Blue Cheer, detailing three songs by the classic lineup of Peterson, Stephens and Whaley several months before the release Vincebus Eruptum the next year. Originally these demos were recorded live at some point in 1967 in either Berkeley or Oakland with the live performance broadcast on KSAN in San Francisco. The recording here is the full recording taken from the KSAN broadcast after decades of being in underground trading circles.
The '67 Demos was released on 23 November 2018 for the Black Friday edition of Record Store Day on blue vinyl, limited to 2,375 copies. Notably this edition would feature extensive liner notes and a Blue Cheer poster. The live recording would also see digital release on 4 January 2019, albeit without a Blue Cheer radio commercial on the b-side exclusive to the vinyl editions. The vinyl pressing was also notably handled by Third Man Records.
