Temple of Doom Festival was a mini-festival held in Johannesburg, South Africa. This festival is a one-day event largely bringing together doom metal bands from South Africa (Mostly Johannesburg but the 2015 edition had a special guest in STRAGE from Durban.) as the headlining acts while other bands from South Africa of other genres.
The festival is no longer active as of 2016, after a fifth edition happened and many of the bands associated with the festival were no longer active. Corax and Mad God notably performed at every edition of this curated sludge and doom event in South Africa.

2014: Temple of Doom[]
The very first Temple of Doom curated showcase would be held on 19 September 2014 at Amuse Café in Johannesburg, South Africa. Notably it would feature three bands in the South African doom scene along with Russian-born artist Anastasya Eliseeva painting live.

2015: Temple of Doom III[]
The third edition of Temple of Doom would be held on 16 January 2015 at Rumours in Johannesburg, South Africa. Originally intended to feature four bands the event would only feature three as Goat Throne would drop off. Notably it also featured special guests The Make-Overs, a Kilnerpark-based garage punk band.

2015: Temple of Doom IV[]
The "fourth" edition of the Temple of Doom Festival was held on May 2, 2015 at Rumours Lounge in Johannesburg, South Africa. The night hosted seven bands from Johannesburg and one from Durban, closing with a live PPV showing of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao "superfight" that same night.
