Supafuzz was an alternative/stoner rock band based out of Lexington, Kentucky. Founded in 1993 by David Angstrom after the dissolution of Black Cat Bone, Supafuzz's sound would encapsulate stoner rock and alternative rock with elements of punk, indie and new wave. Once Chris Leathers joined the band on drums the band would sign with Violently Hip for their debut Pretty Blank Page. Signing to Gotham Records, the eponymous Supafuzz followed in 1998 featuring Aleah X (Angstrom's future wife) and John Garcia (Kyuss, Slo Burn, Unida) as guests, prior to the two forming Hermano a few years later. All About The Rock followed in 2000 with new bassist Jason Groves.

Supafuzz would tour mainly in the 2000s and share the stage with numerous acts such as Kid Rock, Godsmack, Disturbed, SR-71, Nickelback, Third Eye Blind and Hermano among others. The band would sign with Mine's Bigger Than Yours for two more albums (along with becoming a quartet) in 2002's Down For The Underground and 2004's Vertigo, the latter featuring Henry Rollins as a guest. Supafuzz would disband sometime in the 2000s with Angstrom forming Luna Sol and Asylum on The Hill.

Biography via AllMusic[]

After the collapse of the Lexington, KY, rock outfit Black Cat Bone in the early '90s, guitarist/vocalist David Angstrom decided to form a new heavy rock band in 1993. Dubbed Supafuzz, after the 1970s guitar pedal, Angstrom, bassist Dean Smith, and Chris Hardesty began playing shows around the local scene. Following some lineup changes, the group released two LPs, the self-titled Supafuzz and All About the Rock. Since 1994, Supafuzz has been playing shows in and around the Kentucky area. It wasn't until original drummer Chris Hardesty left, however, that the group recorded the 11-song LP Pretty Blank Page for the indie label Violently Hip with Hardesty's replacement, Chris Leathers. The New York-based Gotham Records caught wind of the band and signed them on in the fall of 1998. The imprint re-released Pretty Blank Page as a self-titled LP shortly thereafter, adding three new songs to the 11 pre-existing ones. Following the re-release, bassist Dean Smith left and was replaced by Jason Groves. Supafuzz released their second full-length LP, All About the Rock, on Gotham Records in the fall of 2000.
