Strange Broue is a Canadian band from Québec City, Quebec formed in 2014 by Canadian musician Brouemaster. Its debut album Seance - The Satanic Sounds of Strange Broue was released on February 6, 2017.
History
Strange Broue was formed in 2014 as a solo project by Brouemaster (born Maxime Tremblay), who was inspired by bands like Electric Wizard and Black Sabbath. The project's first EP titled Acoustic Haunting was released on November 22 of the same year, but as its title suggests, it had a soft and warmer, acoustic sound.
Strange Broue would then release four more EPs, two singles independently and one compilation album from January to March 2015. These carried the heavier doom / stoner metal sound that was not present on Acoustic Haunting. The band embarked on a tour with live musicians, which include guitarists Simon Tremblay and Hugo Bertacchi and drummer Richard-William Turcotte (Ancestors Revenge), with whom he would form The Death Wheelers.
After the tour ended, the band released its debut full-length album titled Seance - The Satanic Sounds of Strange Broue on February 9, 2017 via Sunmask Records.
