Space Ritual '94 is a tour featuring Nik Turner, performing as Nik Turner's Space Ritual. On this tour, featuring an all-star cast, Nik Turner would be performing original songs alongside classic songs by Hawkwind and Robert Calvert. Along with Helios Creed, Hawkwing moog player Del Dettmar and members of Pressurehed. Notably Alan Powell (Hawkwind, Chicken Shack, Vinegar Joe) and Genesis P-Orridge (Throbbing Gristle) would appear as guests.
The live performance at Great American Music Hall would be released as a two-disc set and as a VHS via Cleopatra Records in 1995.[1]
Sleep would serve as the direct support on this infamous tour, further supporting 1992's Sleep's Holy Mountain and performing an early rendition of Dopesmoker, which would be properly recorded two years later. Allegedly this was Sleep's first North American tour and the only known North American tour of the band's original run.[2][3]
