Southern Hemisphere Annunciation is a four-date tour featuring Swiss extreme metal band Triptykon. It is notable as the band's first performances in South America.
Background[]
In the spring of 2018, Triptykon would announce, along with a string of festival dates in Europe, a festival appearance in Chile. Soon after a trio of other dates were announced leading to a four-date tour of South American including Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. This string of shows also marks Triptykon's first and only live performances with Stefan Häberli. He would replace longtime drummer Norman Lonhard whom departed in 2017 and then be replaced by Hannes Grossmann later that year. A single show at Czar Fest in Basel predates this tour by a week.
The 18 May date at Circo Volador is notable as Celtic Frost's final live performance happened at that same venue on 13 October 2007, further supporting Monotheist. Celtic Frost had intentions to perform at the 2008 edition of Roadburn Festival but had permanently disbanded just weeks before that intended performance.
