Shooters Bible (Alternatively called The Shooter's Bible) is the sixth studio album by Mondo Generator, set to be released on 28 February 2020 via Heavy Psych Sounds. Notably this album was originally recorded in 2010 and considered to be a "lost album". It's also notably released a week after their fifth album Fuck It, the shortest gap between album releases.
Background[]
On 11 October 2019 Heavy Psych Sounds would announce a new album by Mondo Generator, along with a new N.O. Hits At All release and lastly, a "lost" album recorded in 2010, all of which set for early 2020.[1] On 18 December this lost album in Shooters Bible would be announced, along with the song "Dead Silence" and a full track list. Notably it also features a cover of "Dog Food" by Iggy Pop (Also released as a stand-alone EP) with Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, etc.) on drums and Happy-Tom (Turbonegro) on bass.[2] Shooters Bible was originally lined up for a 21 February release but moved to 28 February.
Shooters Bible was, for the most part, recorded at Meth Lab Studios in Salton Sea, California by Rex Everything. The drum tracks would be recorded at The Pink Castle in Eagle Rock, California by Brad Cook. At the time Mondo Generator did not have a guitarist, leading Oliveri to record guitar tracks and overdubs along with bass and vocals.[3] Notably eleven of the thirteen tracks would be re-recorded on the 2012 album Hell Comes To Your Heart, with slightly altered titles and arrangements. Several of the songs would also be performed and recorded as Death Acoustic songs.
