Seas That Swallowed the Night is the twenty-second album by the Canadian one-man band Soulers, released on September 16, 2019.
It is the project's second funeral doom album and the last one to feature Dai Maō's clean vocals, which would be eliminated from later Soulers albums. It is also the only Soulers release on all streaming platforms.
At almost 80 minutes, Seas That Swallowed the Night is the second longest album ever released, after the 2017 album Trip - The Satanic Sounds of Soulers, which was 57 seconds shorter.
Musical style
The album has a funeral doom direction, combining influences from bands like Mournful Congregation, Ahab, Skepticism, Esoteric and Thergothon.
