Satellite Twin are a progressive/math-rock band based out of Louisville, Kentucky. They would be founded in 2011 and would self-release an album and an extended play not long after forming. In 2015 the band would sign with independent local label Gubbey Records to release The Mechanical Hearts on 17 October 2015 with a release party at Modern Cult Records.[1] An untitled single with three originals and a cover of "Push" by The Cure followed in 2016. A release party for the cassette and the vinyl edition of The Mechanical Hearts would be hosted at The New Vintage on 30 September 2016.[2][3]

Satellite Twin largely performed in the Louisville area with a wide range of local and touring acts. In November 2021 Satellite Twin would release Routines and perform a special show in line for their tenth anniversary as a band.[4]
