Rosetta is the eighteenth album by the Canadian solo project Soulers, released on February 5, 2019. Although split into six movements on Bandcamp due to file size limits, the album is actually one long song. It was released as one track on MediaFire that same day.

The album follows the story of an eponymous 16-year-old girl who, during a party, gets knocked unconsious by an unnamed killer and is pronounced dead at the hospital on January 18, 2033.

According to Soulers founder Dai Maō, the story of Rosetta "was inspired by two incidents I saw at school; two school mates were involved into serious accidents; one was hit over the chin, and the other was knocked unconsious. I won't forget these incidents again."

Plot Edit

Rosetta (December 25, 2016 – January 18, 2033) is 16-year-old teenage girl who grew up crying because everyone kept predicting her death. On January 18, 2033, 23 days after her 16th birthday (December 25, 2032), she was knocked unconsious by an unnamed serial killer at a party. Her parents and friends call the ambulence while the killer escapes. Rosetta gets rushed to the hospital, where she is pronounced dead. Her parents move to a new apartment after her death, but after divorcing they commit suicide in two ways; the father jumps out of the window to his death and the mother killed herself by taking eight sleeping pils. The killer was arrested, found guilty of third degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
