Reincarnation Rose is an EP by the Japanese experimental band Boris. Recorded in 2021, it would be released in November 2021 as a two-song CD Single. The EP would be revealed on 4 November 2021, with Reincarnation Rose being a collaboration with the new Hizumitas fuzz pedal from EarthQuaker Devices. That pedal recreates the sound of Boris guitarist Wata‘s Elk BM Sustainar pedal.[1] a 12" single version would be released exclusively with the pedal.[2]
On 4 November 2021 a music video would be released for the single "Reincarnation Rose". Notably, Wata would contribute lead vocals and guitar, alongside bassist Tokie (Ace of Spades, Unkie), guitarist Sugar Yoshinaka (Buffalo Daughter, Metalchicks) and drummer Yuka Yoshimura (Catsuomaticdeath, DMBQ, Metalchicks). Thus, "Reincarnation Rose" would be the first instance (barring collaborations) of a Boris song without Takeshi or Atsuo. However the trio do appear in the artwork for the CD in a photo together, implying this lineup to be a one-off collaboration.
