Red Desert are a stoner rock band based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Starting in 2004, this quartet combining heavy low-end doom, the distorted fuzz of stoner rock and crafty song structures. Red Desert to date have released three studio albums among other releases and have shared the stage with a wide range of musical acts.

History[]

Red Desert would form sometime in 2004, performing mainly in the Minnesota area. Sometime after forming work would begin on a debut album, recording with Adam Tucker. Red Desert's debut album 18 Wheels would be released on 1 November 2008, gaining positive buzz from some stoner publications.[1] A release party would be hosted the next year on 19 February 2009.[2] Early shows would see the band performing with the likes of Rifflord,[3] Weedeater, Jumbo's Kilcrane and Gypsyhawk among others.

A follow-up album in Damned By Fate would see release on 3 August 2012 to further praise from several publications such as The Sludgelord[4] and Skullbanger[5] to name a few. The band would tour to support the album with Superchief that August.[6] Both bands would tour together again in 2015.[7]

Over the next several years Red Desert would share the stage with a wide range of touring bands such as The Gates of Slumber,[8] Egypt,[9] Naam,[10] Truckfighters,[11] Mos Generator,[12] and The Skull just to name a few.[13] The band also participated in Days of The Doomed[14] and Planet Desert Rock.[15]

Following a split release with Supervoid entitled Second Coming of Heavy: Chapter Two released in 2016 via Ripple Music, work would begin on a third studio album. Horizon would see release on 20 March 2020 with a proposed release party the same day.[16]
