Porn (The Men Of) (Also known as The Men Of Porn and simply Porn) are an experimental doom band based out of San Francisco. It would be founded in 1996 by Tim Moss, who had played in other bands such as Big Muff Pie, Cry Havoc, Mistress, Ritual Device and Soul Grinders.

With Moss on guitar and vocals as the bandleader, Porn has featured a wide arrangement of collaborators and contributors over the years, be it studio or live recording. The band started in 1996 and Moss would spend three years recording in Nebraska and California with a wide range of contributors such as Joey Osbourne (Acid King, Altamont), John Wolf (Soul Grinders) and Joe Goldring (Antimatter, Jarboe, Swans, etc.), leading up to American Style being released by Man's Ruin Records on 11 October 1999. The lineup of Moss, Osbourne and Brian Hill (Buzzov*en, Acid King) would contribute a cover of the Aerosmith song "Lightning Strikes" on Right in The Nuts - A Tribute to Aerosmith.[1]

Porn would go on their first tour in 2000, with support from the likes of Core, Altamont and Tummler. The lineup for this earliest known tour would be Moss, Brian Hill and Sean Tyler (El Dopa).[2] This touring trio, along with Joe Goldring, would record an album at Pig's Head Studio. This would result in a sixty-minute experimental album interspersed with Pink Floyd and Motorhead covers. Experiments in Feedback would see release on 2 November 2001 via Small Stone Records with a North American Tour surrounding it.[3]

Billy Anderson would join the band in 2002 for touring as Porn would tour the West Coast and later North America with Bottom.[4] Following the tour, which would include an appearance at Emissions from the Monolith. Porn would also perform a special marquee set on 30 July[5] and later the final live show at Covered Wagon Saloon in San Francisco.[6] The band would tour the next year at SXSW with Henry Vasquez on drums.[7]

Recording would begin on a third studio album in the Fall of 2003, with Dale Crover joining the band.[8] Wine, Women and Song would see release on 16 November 2004 to positive reviews.[9][10] A tour would be proposed for 2004 with Melvins through Europe but would be canceled.[11]

Following a 2005 North American tour to support the album, Porn would go on an extensive tour with Melvins and Big Business, also while embarking on their first tours of Europe in 2007 and 2008. Recording on a fourth album would take place in 2006, collaborating with Japanese noise legend Merzbow. ...And The Devil Makes Three would be released via Truth Cult on 8 September 2008.
