Population III is a studio album by Randy Holden, former guitarist of Blue Cheer. Recorded in 2010 and released in July of 2022, Population III is seen as a successor to the cult classic 1970 album Population II and was released as such when Randy Holden rediscovered the recordings in 2021. Randy Platt (Cactus) and Bobby Rondinelli (Rainbow, Blue Oyster Cult, Black Sabbath) would serve as the rhythm section on this album.[1]
Population III would be released by RidingEasy Records, who also handled a modern reissue of Population II in 2020.
Population III would garner positive press from several publications such as The Sleeping Shaman,[2] Decibel Magazine[3] and Visions Magazine among others.[4]
