Pilgrimage is the third studio album by Om, released in 2007 via Southern Lord Records. It is notably the first album the band would record at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio in Chicago, Illinois and the final studio release to feature Chris Hakius.
Pilgrimage attained generally positive praise from critics. Notably Uncut would note the press release and respond with their own description of the band as "Gregorian Metal" and "How ‘Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun’ would sound if it was played by Geezer Butler and Bill Ward.".[1] Scene Point Blank would award a near-perfect 9.6/10 score, describing the album as "beyond hypnotic but rather trance-inducing.".[2]
Other critics whom spoke positively of the album would include the likes of Chronicles of Chaos (9/10),[3] Sputnik Music (4/5),[4] Pitchfork (7.2/10),[5] Pop Matters[6] and Exclaim!.[7]
