Our God Has Landed is two live videos by the English doom metal band Cathedral.
Background[]
The original "Our God Has Landed" VHS would be released by Cathedral's original Japanese label Toy's Factory in 1998. The video footage comprises eight songs (of a fourteen song set) at Shibuya On Air East on 13 April 1997.[1] "Soul Sacrifice" was exclusive to the original Japanese VHS.[2] A sample video for Europe would be given away to the first fifty attendees at The London, Astoria 2 Show on 7 May 1999.[3]
Our God Has Landed was released in Europe and the United States on 18 January 2000. The original VHS/DVD version comprises the band's music videos up to that point, along with seven songs from the "Live in Tokyo" set.[4] The 2001 issue of the DVD and all subsequent pressings replaces the live in Japan footage with footage at the Astoria on 18 1992, when the band was on the Gods of Grind Tour.
The 2008 reissue of The Carnival Bizarre features Our God Has Landed as a bonus DVD.[5]
The music video for "Hopkins" features clips from the 1968 Vincent Price film Witchfinder General. Notably, the music video for "Black Sunday" was actually for the Japanese bonus track on Caravan Beyond Redemption, featuring clips and tour footage throughout the 1990s along with cameos of Scott Carlson, Barry Stern and Victor Griffin.
