Obstination (also known as Psychedelic Hard Rock And Fusion Metal) is a collection of studio recordings by the Maryland doom metal band Obstination. Obstination, who were active between 1988 - 1992, were a transition between Asylum (Active between 1981 and 1988) and Unorthodox (Founded in 1992). It would be released through a Maryland bootleg label known as Peace Records.
"Asylum" was previously recorded by Asylum and would be properly recorded by Unorthodox for their 1992 debut album Asylum. "Zombie Dance" would be re-recorded by Unorthodox for their second album Balance of Power, released in 1994. "Funk '69", "Time Bomb", "Space" and "ERAtica" were also previously recorded by Asylum.
