Olneya (Often stylized as OLNEYA) are an instrumental stoner/psych band based out of Rimini, Italy. The band's style is based in instrumental stoner rock but also draws from elements of progressive metal. To date the band has released an EP and digital singles and performed largely in Italy.
History[]
Olneya was founded in late 2015 as a project of one M. Maurizio, who recorded the entire debut EP by himself and performed on all of the instruments. He would soon recruit a rhythm section and followed up with their debut live performance on 19 May 2017.[1] The band would perform more shows and in 2018, release two singles. The first would be Master of Light I & II in February and then Devil's Tongue in April, the latter being their first song with vocals and featuring David Angstrom (Luna Sol, Hermano, etc.).
2020/2021 due to the pandemic, the recording work of the new electric album has slowed down, we are halfway there, at the end of April 2021 we will return to the studio for the reamping of the guitar and bass tracks, followed by mixing and mastering.
However, we plan to complete the new album by the end of the year.
