Nomad are a sludge/doom band formed in 2011. Self-described as "spawned from the various festering wounds of Manchester" this quartet quickly attained a buzz in the UK for their raw and visceral, no-nonsense sound. In the years since forming the band has performed with several major acts such as Prong, Crowbar, Church of Misery, Eyehategod and The Obsessed to name a few.[1] To date the band has a total of three releases, their latest being their debut album Feral released in 2018 via APF Records.

History[]

Nomad would form sometime in 2011 and after some lineup changes and "mini-dramas", would settle on the quartet of Drian Nash, Lewis Atkinson, John Carberry and Hayley McIntyre. The quartet, after performing frequent shows in their native Manchester, would release The House Is Dead on 13 May 2014.[2] The band would tour that September alongside BongCauldron and perform at Riff Fest to support the EP.

The next year would see a split release with the Huddersfield, West Yorkshire sludge band Wort as work would begin on a debut album. Signing with APF Records, the band would record at The Stoller Hall and Wellington House in Manchester from December 2017 to January 2018. Feral would see release on 31 May 2018 to positive reviews from several publications.[3][4][5][6][7]
