Motherplant were a psychedelic doom metal band from Manchester, Kentucky, USA though the members would hail from different towns. Establishing a mix of doom metal and psychedelic space rock, they were mainly active between 2012 - 2015.

History

Motherplant began in 2012 and have played sporadically live throughout the Kentucky area. Their debut album was released via Karmic Swamp Records in 2015. Two shows with U.S. Christmas member Nate Hall would follow in support of it. A tour was planned in support of the album but was ultimately canceled for personal reasons.

On 9 August 2016, the band announced they were taking a break while also announcing two new doom projects involving members of the band: Hawkbill (Adam and Travis) and Hardscratch (Clutch, Phil, Brandon and Matt).
