Moonbow was a stoner rock/metal quartet based out of Dry Ridge, Kentucky which is roughly 35 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio. Moonbow started out as a writing project when singer Matt Bischoff approached David McElfresh of Hank 3/Lethal. The plan was to get together to write some songs for a possible recording project. Songs were written and then we approached former Afghan Whigs/Hermano drummer Steve Earle and Bassist Ryan McAllister of Valley of the Sun to form Moonbow and "The End of Time" was recorded. The End of Time saw release on 30 August 2013.
Preceding the release of the album, vocalist Matt Bischoff who is also a professional BMX Rider would also appear on the hit TV show Survivor and spend a month in the Philippines while the other members would be busy with their other respective bands. A release show for The End of Time was hosted in November 22 2013 at The Southgate House Revival.[1] The band largely performed in Northern Kentucky along with Ohio and Indiana.
The band's second album Volto Del Demone saw release on 28 August 2015 which would feature guest appearances from Eric Johns and Hank Williams III. The band would then sign with Ripple Music for their third album. War Bear saw release on 21 April 2017 and would feature John Garcia as a guest. The band largely remained active until the Fall of 2018.
