Mantra III is the third album by Spiritual Beggars. It would be recorded and mixed at Studio Fredman, Gothenburg July 1997. Additional mixing was done at Maestro Musik, Gothenburg August 1997. Mellotron overdubs were recorded at Studio Helikopter, Gothenburg July 1997. Notably it's the first Spiritual Beggars release to feature Per Wiberg.

The 2000 re-release has an altered tracklist with "Superbossanova" as track 1 and includes the bonus tracks "The Band Is Playing", "Redwood Blues" and an alternative mix of "Euphoria". The alternate version of "Euphoria" and an extended version of "Mushroom Tea Girl" appear on Violet Karma.
