Lord of The Flies is an extended play by The Melvins. Recorded in 2021, it would be released on CD in January 2022 via Amphetamine Reptile Records, with a vinyl edition to follow. Along with two new songs for an upcoming studio album, Lord of The Flies also features two covers. "Misty Mountain Urge" is a medley of "Misty Mountain Hop" by Led Zeppelin and "Uncontrollable Urge" by Devo. "Spoonman" is a cover of Soundgarden and features Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam) as a guest second drummer. "Spoonman" was previously performed by the band at the Chris Cornell tribute concert on 16 January 2019.[1]
"Never Say You're Sorry" would be premiered on 1 January 2022.[2] A music video for "Spoonman" would be released on 23 January 2022, produced by Jesse Nieminen.[3]
"Never Say You're Sorry" and "The Receiver & The Empire State" would later appear on Bad Mood Rising.
