III The EP is the first extended play release by Mondo Generator, released in November 2004 via Tornado Records. Notably this was the first Mondo release after Oliveri was fired from Queens of the Stone Age to which the band composed a short European tour in support of it. Notably it's also the only Mondo release to feature Alfredo Hernández, along with a cover of Roky Erickson's "Bloody Hammer" and a live version of "Six Shooter" featuring Josh Homme and Dave Grohl. "All The Way Down" would be re-recorded for the band's third album Dead Planet: SonicSlowMotionTrails.

III The EP was initially released on CD-R in November 2004 limited to 300 copies, with a 10" white vinyl edition following that January (Unknown Limited Amount). III The EP would get re-released on a compilation the next year (Omitting the live "Six Shooter") along with selected tracks from Nick Oliveri's first solo album Demolition Day, limited to 1000 CD copies. In 2007 Suburban Noise would reissue Dead Planet with "Bloody Hammer", "There She Goes Again" and "Sleep The Lie Away" from III in compressed sound. This release was notably against Oliveri's wishes.
