High Desert Queen are a stoner/desert rock band originating from Houston, Texas and residing in Austin. Founded in 2019, this desert rock quartet have released two albums to date along with a split, all the while touring the US and Europe.
Biography[]
High Desert Queen was formed when singer Ryan Garney and guitarist Rusty Miller went looking for for a rhythm section to help complete some songs they had been working on. The stars aligned just right when Garney met drummer Phil Hook (Monte Luna) who quickly came on board. The band initially formed in Houston but would be actively living in Austin when the members would re-locate there in 2020.
In 2021, High Desert Queen their critically acclaimed debut “Secrets of the Black Moon” on Ripple Music in collaboration with Blasko. With their thunderous, fuzz-drenched anthemic rock’n’roll, the Texan foursome got instantly adopted by the heavy and stoner rock community worldwide. After two successful trips to Europe, HIGH DESERT QUEEN is set to embark on an extensive UK & European tour this spring, highlighted by several large festivals like Desertfest London, Desertfest Berlin and Esbjerg Fuzztival. The band would also release a split with Blue Heron in Turned to Stone Volume 8 circa May 2023.[1]
