Hawkbill and Dirtbag Spring Tour 2018 is a six-date tour featuring Manchester, Kentucky sludge band Hawkbill and Lexington, Kentucky doom metal band Dirtbag in what would be the second time the band toured together.
Background[]
In late 2017, Dirtbag and Hawkbill announced that they would tour together once again in the Spring, spanning six dates through the northeastern United States. Dirtbag would be touring in support of their latest EP Voided while Hawkbill would be touring in support of their self-titled album while premiering new material. On 31 March 2018, Dirtbag began working in another new song entitled "Beneath Lake Herrington" (Then known as "Underneath Harrington") into their set.
Notably in the case of Hawkbill this would be the last shows at the time featuring guitarist Adam Nicholson. Following a canceled show in Knoxville on 21 April 2018, he would amicably depart from the group on 28 April. Hawkbill has since decided to continue on as a duo until the death of bassist/guitarist Chris Gilbert that October. Nicholson would return to the band the next year along with William Crow taking over the bass role.
