Halfway to Gone are an American heavy metal band from New Jersey. The band formed in 1999 when bassist and founding member of Solarized, Lou Gorra got together with Lee Stuart (Solarized's touring guitarist), and drummer Danny Gollin. Chuck Dukehart from Sixty Watt Shaman played drums in the band for a year before being replaced by Kenny Wagner, also of Sixty Watt Shaman and Honky, who toured with them and played on Second Season.

The band did U.S. tours and played shows with the likes of Clutch, Nashville Pussy, Nebula, CKY, Suplecs, and many others. The band's style has been described as a mixture of stoner rock, Southern rock and heavy metal, inspired by Lynyrd Skynyrd and Black Sabbath, among others. Notably the band had covered "Black Night" by Deep Purple on their self-titled album, "Can't You See" by The Marshall Tucker Band on Sucking The 70s and "Honky Cat" by Elton John & Ernie Taupin on Sucking the 70's – Back in the Saddle Again.

They released an album with Alabama Thunderpussy in 2000 and their own debut High Five early the next year. They have released two more albums since in 2002's Second Season and the eponymous 2004 album Halfway to Gone. Halfway to Gone would go on an extended hiatus that same year.

In 2012 the lineup of Stu, Danny and Lou would reform in 2012, notably performing a showcase for Small Stone Records on 1 December.[1] The band had expressed interest in a new album as confirmed by Dan Gollin. The band would go dormant but talks of a new album has continued in 2022.
