H.C. Minds is a sludge/doom band from Eugene, Oregon. Active since 1993 the band is best known as the main musical project of one Isamu Sato and also featured members of Yob and Aldebaran.

History[]

HC Minds began in 1993 in Eugene, mainly as a musical project from Isamu Sato. Eventually in 1999 the band would release their debut album Superficial Winds and an EP entitled Who Can Survive in 2003. At some point Mike Scheidt would perform in the band as the drummer (As indicated by their 2003 split with Japanese stoner/sludge act dot(.)) but in essence was a reversal of roles as compared to their tenure together in Yob. The lineup would eventually change to that of Sato, Paula Rhodes and Sean Schock. On 21 January 2009 the band would release an album under this lineup entitled The Beginning of the End. The band would also contribute a cover of "Black Coffee" to the 2010 compilation This Is Good: A Tribute To Black Flag.

The band still plays sporadic shows in the Washington and Oregon areas, their last known shows to date being in 2010 at the Seattle Doom Fest and two 2011 shows in Eugene.
