Guardian Alien was an experimental psych project founded in 2010 in Brooklyn. The project was founded by Greg Fox (BSCBR, Body Meπa, Uniform, Liturgy, etc.) and Alexandra Drewchin (Eartheater).[1] Though the band has had many contributors, Fox and Drewchin remained the core members for the entirety of the band's existence.
They played several shows throughout 2010 and 2011 in Brooklyn, New York and released their self-titled debut album exclusively on vinyl during the same year. Though mainly performing in New York the band would venture out to various festivals such as Cropped Out and BivTCHPORK.[2] Their second album, See the World Given to a One Love Entity, was released on July 24, 2012. It is a 37-minute instrumental one track album. The iTunes version contains a bonus track. The band woudl embark on several short tours in 2012 to support the album.[3] Further touring took place in 2013 including the band's first ventures to Europe.[4]
Guardian Alien would release two more albums in 2014 along with a split with The Cosmic Dead. Extensive touring to support both albums took place through North America, Europe and Japan.[5] The band's performances would become more sporadic in the years to come, the last known show of the band being at the 2016 edition of Roskilde Festival.
