Golden Shroud is the fourth studio album by English singer-songwriter Rose Kemp, released in 2010 via 12 Year Stretch. In a drastic departure from her earlier material, this album deviates purely into a drone doom style.
Rose Kemp began her career as a folk/pop musician in 2003 with Glance but shifted to more of a psychedelic folk style with later material. Working as a guest with the likes of Atavist, Humanfly and Ufomammut saw her next album focus more on doom metal and doom drone accentuated by her distinctive, well-ranged vocals.
Golden Shroud was both recorded live and mixed in 10 days at S.O.A. Studios in Bristol. The album would see a release in 2010 on CD and a limited CD (150 copies) in a cardboard gatefold sleeve wrapped in a cloth bag and held in place with a wax-seal and tied with string.
