Godzilla is an EP by the California stoner rock band Fu Manchu. Recorded in a single day (19 October 1996), it would be released circa 7 February 1997 via Man's Ruin Records. Notably along with two originals it features a cover of the Blue Öyster Cult "Godzilla", originally from their 1977 album "Spectres". It would be limited to 5000 copies on green translucent vinyl.
Notably it's the first Fu Manchu studio release to feature Brant Bjork on drums. Along with the unique lineup, Godzilla would be the band's only recording at Rancho De La Luna. Josh Homme (Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, The Desert Sessions) would produce the EP and also contributed percussion and lead guitar, the latter credit under the psuedonym "Mike Coopersmith" (Though some have speculated that Scott Hill is the mysterious Coopersmith).[1]
All three songs would be part of the band's fifth album Godzilla's (Eatin' Dust).
