Gilded Sorrow is the upcoming fifth album by The Obsessed. Recorded in 2022 and the first Obsessed album to feature the band as a quartet, Gilded Sorrow would be set for a February 2024 release via Ripple Music. Along with eight original songs, the album also features a re-recording of the song "Yen Sleep" which was originally written and recorded in the early 1990s.

In 2022, The Obsessed would become a quartet and begin touring as such. Along with Wino and drummer Brian Costantino would be bassist Chris Angelberger (Tranquilizer) and guitarist Jason Taylor (Sierra, Witches of God).[1] A new song in "Daughter of an Echo" had appeared in setlists as early as 2019 and by 2023 more new songs appeared in the set. The Obsessed would sign with Ripple Music in December 2022,[2] completing recording of the album by April 2023.[3]
In September 2023, Wino would speak at length on the record as details began to further surface,[4] including the February release date.[5]
