Gagarin 205 is a venue based in Athens, founded in the early 2000s.
Gagarin 205 has hosted numerous festivals such as Greek Cult Film Festival, Up The Hammers, Metal Hammer Festival, Metal From Hellas and Smoke The Fuzz Fest among other marquee events.
The venue is named for Yuri Gagarin. On April 12, 1961, the first Earth escaped gravity, leaving the planet Earth behind. On the Vostok spacecraft, Senior Lieutenant Yuri Alexeyevich Gagarin orbited the Earth at an altitude of 302 kilometers for 108 minutes at a speed of 18,000 miles per hour. Gagarin was the first person to see that the earth is really round, mostly watery and indeed majestic!
