Friends of Hell are a doom metal project with members based out of various parts of Europe (Two members in Finland, one in Spain) and featuring former members of Reverend Bizarre, Eight Hands For Kali and Electric Wizard among other projects. Founded in 2021, their debut album would be released in March 2022.
Background[]
Friends of Hell would be founded in 2021 by Tasos Danazoglou (Great Coven, Eight Hands For Kali, Electric Wizard, etc.), along with vocalist Albert Witchfinder (Reverend Bizarre). The lineup would be rounded out by Spanish guitarist Jondix (Whom previously played with Tas in Great Coven and Eight Hands For Kali) and Finnish bassist Taneli Jarva (Sentenced, The Black League), whom had collaborated with Albert Witchfinder in the project known as Pussies.
The project would be announced on 18 November 2021,[1] with a music video for "Shadow of The Impaler" unveiled on 1 January 2022.[2] The eponymous Friends of Hell would see release on 18 March 2022 via Rise Above Records. The band has also expressed interest in performing live, should the respective members' schedules align.
In 2023 the band would announce some lineup changes as a second album was in the works. On 1 September it would be announced that Swedish vocalist Hellbutcher would be joining the band, replacing Albert Witchfinder who had left for personal reasons.[3] On 3 September 2023 it would be announced that Brazilian guitarist Beelzeebubth (Mystifier) would be joining as the new guitarist, along with noting the band would still be playing "Satanic Doom Metal".[4] Nick (Solitary Sabered/Mirror) would join as a second guitarist.
The band's second album, God Damned You To Hell is set for an April 2024 release.[5]
