History

Leafdrinker was formed in 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana, by guitarist and vocalist Jerome Romagosa. The band's original lineup with Romagosa, Lex Condes (bass), and Alex Behn (drums) was expanded in 2017 to include Soren Ramsey on lead guitar.

2017's Remnants EP was released in April under this lineup. Later that year Evan Cole joined the band on bass. With Condes now on drums and Rick Trahant replacing Soren Ramsey on lead guitar, the band released two singles in 2018: Planeswalker and Settlers of Kratom. These were followed in September 2019 by the band's first full-length release, Nothing Grows.

The band toured Louisiana and Tennessee in September 2019 to promote the album. Rick Trahant departed in late 2019 and the band continued as a three-piece, shifting away from speed and technical precision toward a heavier, more atmospheric sound. April 2020 saw the release of the single Landsickness, followed in August by the band's sophomore LP, Nausea.

In 2021 Leafdrinker released two singles: an acoustic version of the Nothing Grows track, Priestess, in January, and Desert in April.
