Eurynome is a funeral doom band originating in Milan, Italy consisting of Nicole Delacroix and Jacopo Marinelli. Formed in 2018, the band uses electric basses instead of guitars and defines their style "19th Century Funeral Doom Metal" because of the 436 Hz tuning. This frequency was common in 1800s instruments, so the duo adopted this feature on every track of the production to give the sound a more decadent and melancholy trend.
The band moniker refers to the ancient Greek goddess Eurynome who created the cosmos, but was then exiled to the underworld.
Eurynome's debut album, Obsequies, was released on November 15, 2020.
