Estrangement (often stylized as ESTRANGEMENT) is a funeral doom band from Sydney, Australia formed in 2010 by multi-instrumentalist JS. Described as "Crushing Baroque Funeral Doom", the band plays a complicated mix of death/funeral doom with neoclassical elements, displaying some rich "symphonic" textures where piano, cello, flute and violin interlace with crushing riffs and deep growls. The music conveys a dark and mystic aura that can be now and then drastically questioned by brutal bursts of thrashy violence. Originally formed as a solo project, Estrangement added more members, which included violinist Czar, flutist Euterpe and cello player Ligamincer.

The band has released one demo and one split EP since its inception and also appeared on the My Dying Bride tribute album A Lake of Ghosts: The Long Shadow of My Dying Bride, covering the song "De Sade Soliloquy". Estrangement is currently recording its debut album, scheduled for release in 2020.
