Earth Live at Third Man Records is a live album by Washington-based drone legends Earth, recorded in early August 2016 as a supporting act to Boris on their Pink 10th Anniversary USA Tour. The lineup consisted of core members Carlson and Davies along with Brett Netson (Caustic Resin, Built To Spill, Mark Lanegan, Nate Hall).
Background[]
During Boris' tenth anniversary tour of the album Pink in which they performed the entire album along with outtakes from the record. Earth served as the supporting act on the tour and along with Boris were offered to perform at Jack White's Third Man Records in Nashville, Tennessee. As per their performance policy with the vast majority of performers there the show would be recorded live to acetate.
Third Man would release a special colored edition of the vinyl as a "ticket" for attendees while the standard black is unlimited.
Due to limitations of vinyl only a portion of the band's set was recorded. An introduction, Coda Maestoso in (F) Flat Minor and an unknown composition were also performed that night.
